Karen Axelrod, Rachel Bell, and Audrey Leigh Jaber will provide incomparable music for our Terpsichorean delight. They promise to bring fire, spirit, and a playful style to both traditional and contemporary English Country Dance Music.
Karen left the world of classical music many years ago, and has found her home in the folk world. She is highly regarded for her creative piano playing at English, American, and Scottish dance events around the U.S. and abroad. Her improvisational playing is lyrical yet touched with humor and whimsy.
Rachel is sought after for concerts, contra dances, French BalFolk dances, English country dances, workshops, and festivals. Her playing spans an enormous range of emotion, from nuanced and sensitive to exhilarating and powerful, pushing the boundaries of what is expected from an accordion.
Audrey’s fiddling has electrified dance and concert halls across the US and Europe. Audrey’s fiddle playing is rhythmically lively and spontaneous; she’s guaranteed to get you up and dancing. She specializes in English dance, New England, Celtic, and Old Time tunes.
Caller: Susan Kevra is noted for her warmth, clear teaching, & lovely voice. Dancers appreciate her diverse repertoire delivered in dulcet tones, without pretension. Her experience as an English Country Dance clarinetist gives her a keen appreciation of the link between the music & the dance, which leads to pleasing dance programs, arranged not just for the figures but the musical moods evoked by the tunes.

With Susan as choreographer and Rachel Bell as tunesmith, the duo has recently published a collection of dances titled “Trip to Provence” which includes not only the title dance, but other dance floor favorites such as “Moonflower” and exciting new dances such as “Andromeda.”
Our Venue: All events will take place in the wood-floored ballroom of The Treelawn, located in Cleveland’s Waterloo Arts District at 15335 Waterloo Rd, Cleveland, OH 44110.
